Have you guys ever roasted pears before? This was my first time and I really should have done it SO much sooner. It’s the best way to eat a pear—once you go roasted, there’s no turning back. It’s so easy too and with my hefty pregnancy appetite right now, I’m trying to get creative with healthy snacking options that also satisfy my sweet tooth. This one checks all the boxes.
I had been wanting to roast pears for a while, so when I spotted these pretty Starkrimson Pears at a local natural foods store I go to in Newburyport, I instantly knew I needed to use them as mini bowls for my Chobani greek yogurt obsession. And to spice things up? Well, I added some spices! Get the recipe below and let me know if you try them, they are so insanely delish!
2 Starkrimson Pears (any pear will do, but these red ones are delish!)
1 cup Chobani plain greek yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground allspice
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Pinch of ground cloves
Sea salt (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 450°
2. Slice pears in half length-wise.
3. Spoon out pear cores.
4. Roast for 10-12 minutes.
5. While pears are roasting, mix Chobani plain greek yogurt with vanilla extract, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves.
6. Remove pears from oven and scoop a spoonful of your Chobani spiced greek yogurt into the cores.
7. Garnish with cinnamon and a teeny bit of sea salt if desired, and 3-2-1 devour!
Special thanks to Chobani for partnering with me and providing greek yogurt for this recipe.
